Advanced training in endobronchial ultrasound
In this course professionals are trained in experimental surgery using a cadaver model, a live animal model and a virtual simulator. The endobronchial ultrasound is used because it is a minimally invasive technique which reduces mediastinoscopy indications; it requires a shorter hospital stay and involves less morbidity and mortality. This technique provides images and biopsy specimens of the observed area in order to obtain information on lung cancer stages, for example.
