Innovation and Technology
The Innovation and Technology department of the IAVANTE Foundation excels in developing information and communication technologies (ICTs) applied to healthcare, guaranteeing excellence and with a strong commitment to quality, efficiency and personalised care, focussing services on citizens and healthcare professionals.
The department´s philosophy "innovation at the service of citizens" by improving the Andalusian Public Health System (APHS), has made it a reference point for the use of technology in the health sector, both on a national and international level, and it develops large-scale and far-reaching projects to achieve continuing, sustainable progress in R&D&i, focussing its greatest efforts on guaranteeing patient wellbeing and facilitating professional performance.
The Innovation and Technology department has great experience in creating training platforms for healthcare professionals, and in this regard it supports the work of the IAVANTE Foundation´s Training department and the Andalusian Public Health System in general. To this is added its experience with multimedia, multi-device systems, robotic and virtual simulators or artificial intelligence systems applied to training, with particular emphasis on using free software and publishing results in this format.
The department´s years of experience in innovative public health solutions have led it to specialise in and perfect medical information systems, interoperability between systems, and the use of standards, virtual reality, telemedicine and technology and communication project management for the APHS, the development of platforms and scenarios, support and decision-making systems and new frameworks, all focussed on users and healthcare professionals.
The Innovation and Technology department receives and catalyses the needs of Andalusian citizens and mediates between these, the APHS, technology and health companies and the academic sector. This puts it in a privileged and ideal position to improve and facilitate dialogue between the different agents involved in innovation and healthcare technology, creating stable communication links and ensuring the success of the projects put forward and developed.
In this regard, the Area participates in both national and international projects funded internally by the Regional Ministry of Health and also by external agents including the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Science and Business, the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, the CDTI and EU programmes.
The work of the Innovation and Technology department is based on research, increasing knowledge and a team of experienced professionals from various fields, with the focus on improvement and progress.
